FORMAT
Divisions will feature eight (8) teams each competing in a minimum of seven (7) games throughout the week. Following pool play, the top two (2) teams will battle for the Championship!
GAME LENGTH
Five (5) minute warm-up
Three (3) stop-time periods
Resurface every two (2) periods
Squirts = 13 minute periods
Pee Wee/12U & Older = 15 minute periods
No overtime in Pool Play
STAY & PLAY
This is a stay and play event. Teams are required to use the hotel(s) and booking link(s) provided by the World Showdown. Stay must be a minimum of fifteen (15) rooms for five (5) nights. Teams that do not meet this requirement will be charged $75 per room per night not used. Teams that reside within 100 miles of St. Paul, MN are exempt from this requirement.
Teams will receive an e-mail from our hotel provider with a link to book your hotel rooms. Hotels are nearby the NSC Super Rink for easy tournament access!
SANCTIONED EVENT
The World Showdown is a USA Hockey and Minnesota Hockey sanctioned event. All teams must have approved rosters and necessary travel waivers. Contact us for assistance, if needed.
Through our sanctioning partner, Minnesota Hockey and Moundsview Irondale Youth Hockey Association, we are excited to have specials coming soon with the IIHF World Juniors and their events during the week!
TICKETING
Weeklong and daily passes will be made available to pre-order and for purchase at the door. Teams will be notified when they are available. All spectators must have a ticket to enter the NSC Super Rink.
